U-value 1.1 [W/m2K]
as possible. The lower the U-value, the less heat is lost through windows. Heat
is first of all lost in the system’s weakest points (not for nothing do people
say that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link). Windows’ weak link is
their frames.

PVC window frames
In PVC windows, the frame
U-value is the resultant of profile width (the recommended width is over 70 mm),
the number of chambers (optimally 4 or 5) and reinforcements inside the frame.
The material of which the reinforcements are made has a crucial effect on the
thermal parameters. Standard reinforcements are made of metal, which worsens
window thermal insulation properties.
